Niflheim

The Northmen is a brazen race resembling humans with pale-coloured skin and black hairs. They inhabit the inlets and bays along the southern coast of Niflheim. The northmen lead a life on the sea and they trade and fish, and occasionally launch a raid on the richer lands to the south. Their houses are like those of the Mahirim, but are simpler and with less interior decoration. It is typical of the Northmen to build their houses closely huddled, so as to share the protection of the solid landward walls. Ocean travel is almost the only means of transportation for the Northman and there are few roads connecting their houses, which look like islands besieged by ice and sea.
About six years ago, Illgarm the Ice Demon came to Niflheim. After bringing enough monsters into his rule he recently tried to force the commanders of several communities around Niflheim into his crusade. Raids soon happened frequently and land-raids also came into being, assisting the already rampant sea raids. An enormous castle is being built to serve Illgarm's planned throne.
